A MAP OF NORTH WALES NORTH WEST FROM LONDON
A delightful small engraved map of North Wales divided into counties with scale and compass rose. To the left of the map is a panel providing information on Members of Parliament and listing the major towns with the Market and Fair Days. 5 3/4 x 5 1/2 inches. Centre fold. Uncoloured. Publisher’s imprint beneath dated 1742 with the names of Thomas Badeslade the surveyor and W. H. Toms the engraver. Small slit at the bottom of the centre fold repaired otherwise nice good clean condition.

It is interesting to note that the atlas was intended for the use of his Majesty King George I for his intended tour through England and Wales. He died on June 11th, 1727. The dedication is to Frederick Prince of Wales, son of George II born February 1st, 1707 and who died on March 31st, 1751 at Kew.

An engraved map of North Wales divided into counties . Title panel, scale, and list of hundreds. Down the two sides of the map are engravings of antiquities. 12 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. Uncoloured. Water stain in the top left hand blank blank margin. Some light browning in the bottom blank margin. Slight soiling in the top right hand and bottom right hand blank margin corners with rounding of the corner.

A good detailed engraved map of North Wales divided into counties including the Mail Coach Roads. Explanation and compass rose. 16 1/4 X 13 1/4 inches. Fine early outline and wash hand colouring. Good clean undamaged condition. On Whatman paper watermarked 1831. A little light vertical creasing to the left of the original centre fold.

From New British Atlas, Containing a Complete Set of County Maps, on which are delineated the Mail, Turnpike and Principal Crossroads..
