A plan engraved by J. Basire. A secondary title in the top right hand corner reads TOURNAY A Strong City and Castle in the Earldom of FLANDERS taken by the CONFEDERATES July 7. 1709 and let as a Barrier Town to the Dutch by the Treaty of UTRECHT. 18 1/2 x 14 1/2 inches. Uncoloured. Small single tear in the bottom blank margin otherwise good condition.

A fine town plan of Bergues or Sint Winoksbergen engraved by Jacques de la Fontaine. This town was much fought over in the 17th century by Spanish and French troops. 19 x 15 inches. Uncoloured. Latin text on verso. Slight crease in the left hand blank margin as published. otherwise good condition.

ABBATIA S. WINNOCI BERGENSIS ORDINIS D. BENEDICTI

A fine bird’s eye view of the Convent at Bergues. Dedicated to Charles d’Argenteau, Abbot of Bergues by Jacobus de la Fontaine. This town was much fought over in the 17th century by Spanish and French troops. 20 1/4 x 16 inches. Uncoloured. A few small nicks on the edges of some of the wide blank margins. Otherwise good condition .

A good 17th century map showing part of northern France and part of Belgium including the towns of Lille, Douai, Tournai and Kortrijk. Decorative title cartouche bearing the name of Johannes Jansson with figure, putti and coats of arms. 20 x 16 inches. Uncoloured. Dutch text on verso. Fine condition. Straight from the atlas and never sold as a single map before.

An engraved map of modern day Belgium. Decorative pictorial cartouche dated 1780. 16 x 12 1/4 inches. Original hand colouring. Centre fold as published. Old light brown stain in the bottom blank margin and light water stain in the top right hand blank border. Otherwise good clean crisp condition. Straight from the atlas and not sold previously as a single map.

An engraved map orientated with west at the top. Decorative uncoloured title and scale cartouches with putti and coats of arms. 22 x 18 inches. 560 x 455 mm. The scale cartouche bears the name of Nicolaes Visscher and P. Schenk Junior. Original outline and wash colouring. Good condition.

An engraved map orientated with west at the top. Extends from Zwartsluis and Kampen in the north to Nijmegen and Emmerich in the south. Decorative title and scale cartouches. 22 x 18.25 inches, 565 x 465 mm. Hand coloured. Good condition.

An engraved map orientated with west at the top. The title, scales and explanation are displayed within two uncoloured decorative cartouches with coat of arms and putti. 22 x 18 inches, 560 x 465 mm. Original outline and wash colouring. Good conditon.

Ducatus GELRIAE pars Tertia Quae es Comitatus est Comitatus ZUTPHANIENSIS

An engraved map orientated with south at the top. It extends from Deventer and Zutphen in the north to Emmerich and Rees in the south. A decorative cartouche displays the title and blank scales, with coat of arms. Four small coats of arms. 20 x 15 inches, 520 x 385 mm. Original hand colouring. Good condition.

ZUTPHEN

A fine early engraved bird’s eye view plan of the city of Zutphen. Embellished with two coats of arms in the upper half. At the bottom of the map is a a decorative cartouche with a key to the churches and places of interest. 16 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches. Fine original early hand colouring. German text on the verso. Good clean crisp condition with full original wide blank margins.

An interesting engraved map of part of the rivers Waal, Nederrijn and Rhineflowinf through Gelderland including the towns of Nijmegen, Arnhem, Kleve, Tiel, Gorinchem, Emmerich and Wesel. Shown in two sections on one sheet. Embellished with a total of three decorative cartouches displaying the title and scales. One of the scale cartouches bears an attribution to Jan Jansson and the name of Moses Pitt. Original centre fold. 19 x 14 1/2 inches. Attractive hand colouring. Some light vertical creasing otherwise good clean condition.
