An interesting 17th century map published in Amsterdam of the whole of France in ancient times based upon information from Strabo, Virgilius, Ovidius and Caeser. Two decorative cartouches. 19 x 15 inches, 490 x 395 mm. Uncoloured. Dutch text on verso. Tear near centre of map repaired on verso. Straight from the atlas and not sold as a single map before.

AN ACCURATE MAP OF FRANCE
An engraved map of the whole country with an oval title panel. It clearly shows the arrangement of the provinces with just a few place names in each. 11 x 7 1/2 inches. Imprint of the published J. Fielding No 23 Paternoster Row with date that has been partly erased but looks like 1783. Light water stain on the right hand side of the map otherwise good condition..

A detailed engraved map after Guillaume de L'Isle, published in Amsterdam by Jean Covens and Corneile Mortier. It covers a large area of South West France with the border to Spain. The piece of coastline shows Bayonne and Biarritz. 25 3/4 x 19 inches. Early outline hand colouring. Original centre fold. Heavy paper. Fine clean undamaged condition.
