Antique Road Maps of England and Wales

Road maps of England and Wales shown in a strip form first appeared in 1675 with the publications of John Ogilby's Britannia. There then followed a number of series of road maps by a number of mapmakers. They were smaller than the folio maps by Ogilby so that they could be carried by the early 18th century traveller but were based on Ogilby's amazing survey of the roads.

I have been buying and selling antique maps since the early 1960's during which time I had a gallery in Watergate Street, Chester for 30 years. I am now able to offer through my websites a personal service to map and print collectors.
