Kitchin's Pocket Atlas of the Counties of South Britain or England and Wales

The maps from this atlas by Thomas Kitchin vary in size. Some of them were printed with one more maps to the page so if you find an individual map from one of these sheets they may have uneven blank margins. Some maps were folded to fit so do not be worried by original creases. They are quite rare so can provide a challenge when you are looking for a particular county for your collection. I can only assume that perhaps the atlas did not sell well in its day or was it that too many copies were carried around in pockets. This just adds to the fascination of collecting. Some of the specimens I have come across have not been in the best of condition so you might have to accept this particularly with the larger maps.
