A circular celestial map of the Southern Hemisphere with the figures of the constellations. At each of the four corners is an engraving of an Italian observatory, Pisa, Bologna, Padova and Milan. 16 x 12 inches. Original hand colouring. Small tear in the bottom blank margin which just extends 3mm into the engraved area, repaired, otherwise good condition.

A celestial chart with figures of the constellations. 22 x 19 inches. Original wash hand colouring. Minor split near the centre fold repaired. Small very minor tear in top blank margin repaired. Two small Chethams Library impression stamps.

SPHAERA MUNDI

A celestial chart displaying the earth rotated at a number of angles. Illustrations of armillary spheres in the two top corners and illustrations of a terrestrial and celestial globe in the two bottom corners. 22 1/4 x 19 inches. Original hand colouring. Small tear in bottom blank margin repaired otherwise good condition. Two small Chetham's Library impression stamps.

An untitled celestial chart centred on the Octans, a faint constellation in the deep southern sky. Latin for the eighth part of a circle but named the octant, a navigational instrument. The chart shows the figures of the constellations which have been hand coloured. 11 x 11 inches. Fine clean condition.
