IMPERIAL BEARS GREASE OR A PEEP INTO FUTURITY
A fine Georgian hand coloured caricature by William Heath (pseudonym 'Paul Pry'). It depicts the apprehensions roused by the Russo Turkish War. The Tsar is represented by the bear, Charles X is portrayed as a French dandy and the Emperor of Austria is in the background. The figure of Paul Pry appears beneath dated 1820 alonong with the publisher T. McLean 26 Haymarket. 12 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches. Superb clean condition. Laid into a larger page some 18 x 12 1/4 inches.

It depicts the heiress at finishing school with four additional comic portraits of foreign tutors Monsr. Galliopad - Professor of Dancingl; Chevalier Nonctone - Professor of Languages; Sugnor Scratchendotti - Professor of Drawing and Carl Matlida vin Grump - Professor of Music. 13 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches. Laid into a larger page some 18 x 12 1/4 inches. Original hand colouring. Superb clean condition. Imprint of Thomas Mc,Lean dated March 1st 1830.

An early hand coloured engraving of the actor playing the part in William Shakespeare's plat King Henry IV Part 1. 6 1/2 x 8 inches. Attached just across the top to a much more modern patterned paper. Two inch tear in the top left hand blank area otherwise good condition with with rich 19th century hand colouring.
Mr. Mead was an actor who played many roles but was also manager of the Elephant and Castle Theatre in London
