THE SEA COAST FROM FIFFNESS TO MONTROS was Surveyd by Mr. Mar, an Injenious Marriner of Dundee. A fine chart showing the entrance to Dundee. Large inset charts of Aberdeen and Montrose. Small title cartouche with putti. The dedication to the Magistrates of the City of Aberdeen is displayed within a decorative cartouche with coat of arms and figures. 2 1 x 17 inches. Uncoloured. Tiny single worm hole on the lft and bottom right of the chart otherwise good condition. Good stout paper with full original margins.

A fine 17th century map of the region. The title is displayed within a decorative cartouche whilst the scale appears within a second cartouche with figure of a surveyor and putti. The dedication is shown in a third cartouche surmounted by a large coat of arms. The map bears an attribution to Timothy Pont whose surveys were used by the Blaeu family to produce the first printed county atlas of Scotland. 22 x 16 1/2 inches. Early hand colouring.
